James Haywood

As an artist rooted in architecture, I craft unique objects and spaces as dual explorations: introspective journeys within myself and experimental ventures into new materials and techniques against the backdrop of our planet's precarious state.

Over the last three years, I've delved into cutting-edge materials like geopolymer concrete, bio-resins, and algae. This research is bolstered by collaborations with material scientists. The goal? To spotlight sustainable alternatives to the harmful materials currently dominating our world. My background in aerospace engineering was at the root of this material-focused artistic odyssey.

My work is an amalgamation of organic shapes and linear elements, untethered from any specific earthly inspiration.
